Volunteering opportunities

The Hive Mind volunteer experience offers committed and caring individuals the opportunity to belong to a community of service-minded peers as well as the chance to build their leadership skills and carry the organization to new levels each year. We expect more than 20 volunteers from diverse career backgrounds in the greater Jacksonville area to help Hive Mind achieve its mission each year.

How to Apply
​

  1. Complete the application below ("Apply here"). 

  2. Participate in 30-minute virtual interview.

  3. Receive decision within two weeks of interview.

Applicant Timeline
​

  • Interviews: Beginning August 14, 2023, applicants will be invited to interview on a rolling basis.

  • Decision: Applicants receive a decision within two weeks of interviewing.

  • Start Date: Candidates begin in September 2023.

Mentors

Mentors guide, challenge, and celebrate their student through their three years in the program. As a mentor, you’ll act as a caring adult in your mentee’s life, providing emotional and consistent support while sharing insight from your own journey to college and beyond.

Writing & Critical Thinking advisors help improve students' writing skills so their college essay applications are the best they can be.

Test Prep Instructors are trained to guide students in small groups through a structured weekly Kaplan curriculum that helps elevate their SAT scores.
